This is tied to housing above, but all houses will be rigged from the ground up with optical fiber connections. Optical fiber is currently the most efficient way to transmit data between two points and it probably won’t change very soon. Lack of optical fiber to homes today is an enormous stumbling block and results in higher costs for many services. One optical fiber could provide all the telephone and cable TV any one home could ever hope to use. My plan calls for several fibers to each home—we can find a use for the others later and they would serve as backup in case the primary fiber became damaged somehow.
